Overview. Mother Science is a biotech beauty brand creating next-generation skincare solutions. They believe in pushing the boundaries of skincare with cutting-edge science, beginning with their never-before-used ingredient Malassezin. Born out of curiosity and a passion for science, Mother Science aims to build a community inspired by learning and innovation.
PIVOT was hired to design, develop and deploy a custom theme on Shopify Plus to support the launch of the latest biotech beauty brand, Mother Science.
Challenge. As a new startup launching with a single hero product, the Mother Science team sought a Shopify Plus partner who could effectively convey their brand identity and educate customers about Malassezin's effectiveness. They wanted the partner to create a visually appealing user interface and seamless user experience to attract and convert new customers.
Solution. With extensive experience designing and developing Shopify storefronts for leading beauty brands, the PIVOT team got straight to work – leveraging proven UI/UX best practices to build a custom theme, enabling customers to seamlessly discover Mother Science while learning about the scientific backing and clinical studies that went into creating their cutting-edge Molecular Hero Serum.
Purpose-built with conversion top of mind, Mother Science's custom theme is clear and concise. Visitors quickly understand Mother Science's offering, the breakthrough technology behind their brand, Malassezin's efficacy, and customers' success through product reviews – enabling visitors to get the right amount of information they need to move seamlessly from browsing through to checkout.
The PIVOT team took a mobile-first approach to the design of Mother Science's custom theme, beautifully consolidating content to adapt to the behavioral expectations of mobile users. This practice ensures an intuitive user flow across both mobile and desktop shopping experiences.
